At Blackstock Co-op Nursery School...
We play.
We have fun not only by playing with toys, but through “Invitations to Play.” This includes a variety of individual and themed items that encourage your child’s natural imagination.
We create.
We make art, build, read, grow plants from seeds, perform plays for each other and sing out loud. And yes, at some point during the day, our hands are usually covered in paint, glue and/or glitter.
We explore.
We engage in sensory play and explore the wonder that is science through age-appropriate experiments. We go outside, take walks around the neighbourhood as well as visit farms, fields and forests.
We build community.
For over 47 years now, we have served and supported each other and our local Blackstock community.
We bring together a variety of families who:
Understand that children learn best through play.
Believe that parental involvement is integral to a child’s educational success.
Desire an opportunity to be directly involved with their child’s early education.
See what our families are saying about us:
We have been so pleased with our daughter’s experience at BCNS. She looks forward to going every week and we love hearing about the variety of stimulating activities she does there.
It is evident that she has learned a lot about structured school and many of the skills that go along with it ...
Thanks for everything!
The BCNS is a wonderful program that both our children were able to be apart of (just like their Dad 30+ years ago).
Nestled into our small community, it is a great way to introduce school like routines and interactive play with other children in similar age groups.
The teaching staff are warm and welcoming to all children and parents alike.
Thank you!!!
... The ratio of teachers to children is a very good balance. The number of kids in the class allowed mine to stretch their boundaries and learn to interact and share with several children in many situations ...
I think the best aspect of BCNS is the people. The teachers are simply amazing, caring and truly go above and beyond. The parents on the board are a positive and dedicated group ...
